I have worked on 75 patent applications before INDECOPI, filed between 2013 and 2026: 48 have already been decided and 27 remain pending. Of the 34 applications I drafted that have been decided, 29 were granted (85.29%). In 12 files originally started by others I took over the response to the patentability examination, and all 12 were granted. The remaining 2 are divisional applications. The figures cover both invention patents and utility models.

How to read the drawing on this page
It is Fig. 1 of utility model 001947-2024/DIN, which we drafted for Universidad Nacional de Frontera and INDECOPI granted. It protects a portable device that assesses the quality of meat and other foods with odor sensors, an RGB camera that analyzes color, and a thermal camera that checks the cold chain. By combining several measurements, it reduces the false positives of devices that rely on odor alone.
It is an exploded view: the device is shown taken apart, with its parts separated in the order in which they are assembled, and each one carries a reference numeral.

What makes it a good drawing
- Nothing is hidden. Separating the parts also reveals the ones inside the housing, such as the battery and the control board. Fig. 2 of the application repeats the view from below, where the sensors are.
- The numerals match. Every numeral in the drawing appears in the legend of the description, and every numeral in the legend appears in the drawing.
- It supports the claim. Every element of claim 1 has its numeral in the figure: the housing (1), the odor sensors (2), the cameras (3 and 4), the control board (6), the computer (7) and the battery (10). It also shows what the claim locates: the handle on top and the sensors underneath.
